Understanding Cranio SelfCare4Health:
A Real-Life Example
A client came to me with jaw pain and tightness, especially
when opening her mouth. She also preferred to chew food on the right side.

Starting the Session
I began by focusing on the "Breath of Life" at her
feet, waiting for a sense of balance to emerge. Once I felt a state of
equilibrium, I moved to her chest and tuned in to her thoracic inlet. Her heart
was beating very fast, but after a while, her breathing and heartbeat both
slowed down, indicating a state of calm.
Working on the Jaw
With her thoracic inlet balanced, I started working inside
her mouth. I began by holding her maxilla (upper jaw). Her bite was
uneven—there was a lot of pressure on the right side and barely any contact on
the left side. Once her maxilla aligned with the sphenoid bone, her bite became
more balanced. I then worked on the ramus of her mandible (jawbone), starting
from the left side and moving to the right.
Understanding the Periosteum
A quick side note: the periosteum is a membrane that covers
the outer surface of all bones except the joint surfaces. It has an outer
fibrous layer full of collagen and an inner cellular layer that plays a crucial
role in bone repair and maintenance.
Why It Matters
Collagen fibers in the periosteum provide structural support
and help tissues withstand tension. The periosteum also contains blood vessels
and nerves that nourish the bone and cause pain if damaged. These blood vessels
penetrate the bone through channels and help bind the periosteum to the bone.
Bringing it All Together
Throughout the session, I aimed to connect with the whole
body through the bones and periosteum. This awareness extends to the fascia and
fluid body, bringing a holistic approach to self-care.
We tried various hand positions on the ramus, vomer, and
zygoma (facial bones).
Client's Feedback
By the end of the session, my client reported an 80%
reduction in pain on the right side and a significant release of tightness. She
found it much easier to open her jaw wide and felt like there was "more
room" in her mouth.
