My niece is getting married
end of December. 2019. We had an interesting
conversation about preparing body and mind early for pregnancy. We talked about how diet and stress will have
an impact of the next generations to come – the intergeneration of prenatal
diet and stress.
Girls are born with their one and only lifetime supply of eggs.
Around the 20th week of gestation, a female fetus has developed a reproductive
system, including 6 to 7 million eggs in her ovaries.
The egg cell
that created you was formed inside of your mother’s ovary while she was a fetus
inside your grandmother’s womb.
A
study published online in The FASEB Journal shows
that parents' own prenatal environment has a impact on their children's weight.
Mothers who were malnourished in the
womb tend to produce smaller babies, while a father's malnourishment in utero
results in his offspring being smaller by the time they are 2 years old.
I think most of us are familiar with the saying “you are what
you ate”. The new saying now is “you are
what your grandparents ate”.
It looks like my nieces and nephews will have to work on
their diets and a change of lifestyle.
On the bright side, I can support them with Craniosacral Therapy. Craniosacral Therapy is a very gentle, fully-clothed
therapy that works on all levels; physically, emotionally, and psychologically,
to encourage wellbeing and rejuvenation.
Craniosacral Therapy can potentially
help to balance your hormonal system, making it easier to conceive. Hormones can be thrown out of balance
for many reasons, and one of them is STRESS. Under STRESS, the adrenals
pump out cortisol and keep our nervous system in “fight or flight” mode. When
your brain senses this hypervigilant state it diverts attention
away from reproductive hormones and more towards cortisol production.
Releasing stress from your system is a very valuable preparation for
inviting a child to you.
Also if you are struggling with things like
infertility, pelvic or vaginal pain, menstrual cramps, lower back pain, polcystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or irregular menstrual cycles it is
time for selfcare. Craniosacral therapy
can bring focused attention, support and relief to the pelvic area by calming
the nervous system, reducing restrictions and improving circulation.
