For years, I lived with
sensory overload and selective mutism without realizing the impact it had on my
life.
It wasn’t just childhood
struggles. It seeped into everything—my education, my career, my
opportunities.
Held Back, Overlooked
& Bypassed
In school, I worked hard, but
my grades didn’t reflect my intelligence. I struggled with coordination—trying
to take notes while listening felt impossible. If I focused on writing, I
missed what the teacher was saying. If I tried to listen, my hands would
freeze, unable to write fast enough.
Classrooms were
overstimulating—bright lights, chatter, scraping chairs, buzzing projectors. I
was constantly on edge, and my body was too busy trying to survive the sensory
chaos to focus on learning.
By the time I entered the
corporate world, the same patterns followed me.
I was bypassed for
promotions—not because I lacked skills, but because I wasn’t the one speaking
up, taking space, asserting myself. I had valuable insights, strong ideas, deep
understanding—but my voice wasn’t loud enough.
The workplace rewards
confidence, boldness, visibility. And I had spent my life quietly adapting,
staying small, avoiding attention.
Even when I wanted to teach
craniosacral therapy, I was overlooked again. I had the skills, the knowledge,
the depth—but I wasn’t seen.
The Missing Piece: My Nervous System Was Stuck
in Survival Mode
For so long, I thought the
problem was me.
I thought I needed to be
louder, tougher, more assertive. But the truth was, my nervous system was
dysregulated.
Sensory overload had kept me
in a chronic state of fight-or-flight.
Selective mutism was my
body's way of protecting itself from overwhelm.
My nervous system had never
learned how to regulate itself.
I wasn’t failing—I was
stuck.
Healing Through Craniosacral Therapy: Learning
to Self-Regulate & Thrive
Then came Craniosacral Therapy. Through my training, I
received treatments myself. And with each session, something profound
happened—my autonomic nervous system began to self-regulate.
Craniosacral therapy doesn’t
just ease symptoms—it supports the nervous system in finding balance, helping
it shift from survival mode into a state where we can truly thrive and
shine.
- The sensory chaos
softened.
- The fight-or-flight signals
quieted.
- The tension unwound.
- My body shifted into ease,
clarity, and confidence.
I wasn’t just managing
symptoms anymore—I was healing at the deepest level. And because of that, I
finally had the space to shine.
From Silence to Speaking: Finding My
Purpose
Now, I stand before groups,
speaking with ease, with clarity, with confidence.
I am an eloquent public
speaker.
I am a tutor for the Cranio
SelfCare4Health programme.
I use my voice to help others
heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves.
The person who was once
silent, bypassed, unseen—now teaches, leads, and empowers others to heal.
Healing Isn’t Just Personal—It’s Power
When your nervous system is
downregulated and in a state of balance, everything becomes possible.
We are no longer stuck in
survival mode.
We are no longer held back by
past limitations.
We finally step into our
fullest potential—not just surviving, but thriving.
